Learn How to Preserve Archival Materials on July 26
You are invited to attend the July 26th meeting of the Friends of the Texas Room. The meeting is free and open to the public, focusing on the conservation and preservation of archival materials such as books, documents, letters, newspapers, leather, and photographs.
The program includes refreshments at 6:30 pm, followed by a lecture and demonstration by Laney McAdow and Mary McMillen, who are on the staff of the Houston Metropolitan Research Center. Ms. McAdow worked 25 years in the Harvard University Library System, including 16 years as Collections Conservator at the Graduate School of Education. She studied Bookbinding and Conservation at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, and is a member of AIC and The Guild of Bookworkers.
