CLF General Meeting on February 11 at 10:30 will be a double feature. At the regular meeting our speaker will be Louis Aulbach who will present a selection of stories from his most recent book Buffalo Bayou: An Echo of Houston's Wilderness Beginning. This book offers wonderful historical stories of local personalities and places and will be available for purchase then.
In the afternoon will be a PowerPoint presentation on Norwegian and Scandinavian genealogy by Blaine Hedberg who will represent the Norwegian American Genealogical Center & Naeseth Library from Madison, Wisconsin. The presentation will be followed by a Question and Answer workshop. The speaker said it would be helpful if some questions would be sent to him ahead of time at bhedberg@nagcnl.org. [Mr. Hedberg's email address has been corrected. Please note the correct one for questions.]
Do you enjoy reading the many periodicals at Clayton Library? The Angels Program was created to provide subscriptions Clayton Library would like to receive on an “as published basis”, but that are in excess of the Library’s budget. We are happy to announce that all remaining subscriptions for 2012 have been completed through the generosity of two of our members [husband and wife] and our thanks go to both of them.
