Genealogy Face2Face - Presented by Clayton Library Friends

Genealogy Face2Face is an informative and fun Zoom hangout that features genealogical speakers, discussion, and sharing. This program is open to both CLF members and guests free of charge. Our goal is to promote the Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library Campus, its collections, and genealogical research.

Title:  Three Ways to Break Brick Walls with DNA

Synopsis of Program: FamilyTreeDNA offers three types of DNA testing for genetic genealogy (autosomal, mitochondrial DNA, and Y-DNA). Discover how to confirm your paper trail and family stories and break brick walls through each type of DNA test by using the research tools available with each set of results and important tips and tricks to get the most out of your matches.

Katy Rowe has always been interested in genealogy, inspired by her maternal grandparents, who told her stories about their family and family history when she was little. After studying anthropology and history at Southern Methodist University, she joined FamilyTreeDNA in 2015 and became the Trainer for Customer Support. Katy created and improved training processes and was fundamental in creating the Big Y Specialist team. In September 2021, she became Product Owner and focused closely on improving FamilyTreeDNA's genetic genealogy products and tools.
