Do you need help with your family research?
Clayton Library Friends (CLF) has launched a new and exciting fee-based project that provides a service to clients who seek help with their own family research. Members of Clayton Library Friends, who are NOT professional genealogists but have a variety of experience, will assist you by investigating resources that are available only at Clayton Library or on the Houston Public Library website.
It is especially important that you provide us with as much accurate information about your ancestor to help cut down on the amount of time our volunteers must spend. After payment is made and the Research Request Form is completed, a member of Clayton Library Friends will be assigned to your request. A research report will be provided. A refund will not be given if the results are not found, but further research suggestions may be offered. Inquiries are answered in the order received. Please allow six-eight weeks for research to be conducted.
The cost for three hours of research time: $50 for non-members and $35 for members of Clayton Library Friends. Research fees are nonrefundable and must be paid in advance of processing your order. A refund will not be given if the desired results are not found after three hours of research. Like all CLF projects, the revenue generated will support CLF which supports The Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library Campus.
To start, click on the Research Request item (on the right) and add it to your shopping cart. Then click View cart and check out. (Remember to log in with your CLF account to receive the member price!)Then download and fill out the Research Request form.
And finally, email your filled out form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
